My New Flame is the modern candle by Ingo Maurer. The mobile table lamp, which is rechargeable via USB, makes a cosy light like a candlelight dinner: My New Flame uses modern LEDs to create a nostalgic light effect that simulates naturally flickering candlelight. Based on video footage, twice 128 LEDs reproduce the slight flickering of a flame in a realistic and fascinating way. The LEDs form a rectangle on both sides of the slim platinum, so that the flame image can be seen on both sides of the lamp. The light can be switched on and off via a switch in the base, but can also be dimmed.
My New Flame is the chic version of a candle, never starts to smoke, does not soot, burns as long as possible, is unscented and is not disturbed by the air – so perfect for dining indoors (rain) and outdoors (sun). The My New Flame portable LED lamp provides the perfect ambience for a digital or analogue glass of wine.
The electrical components have been arranged in line with design considerations. My New Flame can be operated with 4 AA/Mignon NiMH batteries of 1.2 volts each, or using the USB cable supplied. (The batteries are not supplied.)
